Laundry Gift Baskets Literally Everyone Would Love To Get

Are you looking for unique gift basket ideas? A laundry gift basket is an easy and cute solution that can work for a few different occasions. It’s often used as a gift for graduating students moving into their dorm, but can also make a charming baby shower or a wedding shower gift. It’s great because the entire gift is usable so nothing goes to waste and for occasions such as a baby/wedding shower or college present the gift itself is something that you know they will need and use. For step by step instructions, and ideas on how to create your own keep reading ( I covered a baby and wedding shower hamper as well as a college laundry gift basket).

How To Make A Laundry Gift Basket

  1. Find a shallow material, plastic or wicker laundry/hamper basket that you want to use for the laundry gift basket
  2. Purchase some packing paper, a blanket or tissue paper to place in the bottom of the hamper
  3. If you want to wrap the basket, ensure that you have cellophane wrap, tulle or a large piece of fabric
  4. Decide what you want to include in the basket (depending on what kind of basket you are making ex. College dorm or Baby shower gift basket)
  5. Start assembling the basket by placing your choice of material (step 2) in the bottom of the basket to add some height
  6. Take the largest items that will be included in the basket and start by placing them near the back of the basket
  7. Continue to fill the basket by placing the smaller items in the front until the basket is full
  8. Place the basket in the middle of a large sheet of cellophane wrap (or the material of your choice)
  9. Take all four corners and pull them up to the middle of the basket, using one hand to hold them, while gathering any missing pieces
  10. Next secure the cellophane wrap with a ribbon, elastic or string and you’re done

College Dorm Gift Basket

College is an exciting time in every young adult’s life. The start of their independence and the start of more responsibility including, doing their own laundry. That’s why the laundry gift basket is perfect for this occasion. It gives them everything they need plus a few extras and it’s a nice little send off from mom or whomever is giving the gift. I found some DIY examples of laundry gift baskets that can be easily recreated.

What I love about these laundry gift baskets is that they can be made in so many ways. Take for example this homemade dorm shower kit created by Pink Cake Plate. She included all the basics that you would need for a shower dorm such as flip flops, towels, razors, soaps, shampoos and more.

The next gift basket example is from Hoosier Homemade. They took a completely different take by adding typical college snacks like chips and Oreo’s as well as a few laundry and shower supplies. A quick trip to the grocery store and you would pretty much be set.

This next baby basket is adorable! I love how Planning Baby Shower created a clothes line and hung the socks on it. She even found little mini clothes pins to hang the socks with. I know this would be a hit with any new mom.
