Do you have a son or daughter leaving for college this year? It’s such an exciting time for them, but as much fun as it can be, it also comes with its set of challenges. Its the first time they are on their own, making their own meals, and of course doing their own laundry. That’s why the laundry gift basket is such a great gift. It gives them everything they need, plus a few extras.
Most laundry gift baskets use a traditional hard plastic bucket, but I didn’t like the look of them, so I decided to go with a material one. Plus I thought it would be easier to carry it to and from the laundry room. I found this one off Amazon and it looked like something a college student would buy.

Laundry Gift Basket Supplies
This was everything I included in the gift basket (I will go into more detail below). The gift basket that I put together was intended for a girl, but you could easily switch everything out for men’s products.

The Basics
I included the basics for the laundry gift basket; laundry soap and dryer sheets. I bought Gain and some Downy infusion dryer sheets. I had them in my bedroom for a week before I made this and it made my whole room smell amazing!

Shower Supplies
When deciding what else to include in the basket, I tried to think of all the items that I consider essential. So I packed some shampoo, conditioner, body wash, a bar of soap, body lotion, shaving cream, deodorant and a towel. I also found some cool silicon face scrubbers.

I included a throw blanket, toothpaste, dry shampoo (for the days that you’re running late). Exfoliating gloves, a loofah, razor, comb, some face cloths, and a material bag to bring to the shower. I didn’t do too much for snacks, just some coconut butter bars from Nature Valley (which are delicious).

I took most of the bath items and threw them into the red shower bag to keep them neat. Unfortunately, the bag wasn’t quite big enough to fit everything, but hopefully it will work to carry the essentials to the shower room.

After packing up the shower bag, I folded the throw blanket and placed it in the bottom of the bag. I piled the rest of the items on top of the blanket and hung the towel on the side. I felt like the front of the bag looked a little plain so I took a new hair elastic and tied the pink bath gloves to the front.

Finished Product
This was the finished product! I may get some ribbon or a bow to make it look more like a present, but overall I think it turned out well. I hope you can steal some of my ideas for your own basket.
I included a list of everything I purchased below just in case you need it for shopping and have fun making your own laundry gift basket!
